their case for making Stiller's first wife into an annoying monster, etc. was totally un-convincing... it made him look all the more like a lame-o

My wife and I recently stumbled across this movie on one of our movie channels. It was very good, and very, very disturbing. The psychological and ohysical abuse endured by the girls, if even half of what was depicted in the film, is one of the most heinous things I've ever heard of. Ellen Page was amazing as was Catherine Keener in a role that had to have taken an emotional toll to play. I believe Ellen page is one of the best actresses working today.

In my opinion, Kevin Bacon is one of the most underrated and under appreciated actors working today. Good musician as well. I'm going to have to put this film on my list.

Dude, seriously, 9 stars? Sure it was an entertaining escape, but I'd have to say 7 stars at the most. Hoffman stole this film.
